Polycarbonate (PC)

Polycarbonate (PC)

Polycarbonate was one of the first thermoplastics to possess excellent impact strength, and high heat resistance in conjunction with good dimensional stability. PC features such as rigidity, toughness, and the ability to mold features not possible in metal equals a plastic that saves time and money by reducing the number of needed parts.

Common Uses:

  • Consumer products: Housewares, compact discs, DVDs, Blue-ray Discs, drinking bottles, drinking glasses, sunglass/eyeglass lenses, MP3/Digital audio player cases
  • Automotive Industry: headlamp lenses
  • Industrial uses: lab equipment, research animal enclosures, safety glasses, machine glazing, riot shields, sound walls
  • Advertisement: signs, displays, poster protection
