In Plastics News - The Plastics Academy announced Feb. 10, 2017 that it is posthumously inducting five new members into the Plastics Hall of Fame, recognizing accomplishments ranging from developing the first open heart surgery coronary bypass pump to the founder of Placon Corp.

"Feb 10, 2017 --  L.D. Blackwell, a pioneer in the development of plastics molded products for health care, aerospace, and consumer products. At Houston-based Blackwell Plastics, he helped develop the first coronary by-pass pump used in open heart surgery."

 

July 30th, 2009 -- Blackwell Plastics is honored with the Houston Award in the Injection Molded Finished Plastic Items catagory by the US Commerce Association. Each year, the US Commerce Association (USCA) identifies companies that they believe enhance a positive image of small business through service to thier customers and community.

May 7, 2008 -- Blackwell Plastics is honored by the Society of Plastics Engineers for demonstrating outstanding service to the SPE and its objectives. This is an example of our commitment to Level 5 Service.

November 9, 2006 -- Blackwell Plastics was recognized by the Greater Houston Partnership as one of Houston’s best companies. See the video.

May 7, 2006 -- LD Blackwell honored by the Society of Plastics Engineers for demonstrating long-term, outstanding service to the SPE and its objectives. Only 246 members have been elected to this prestigious status since it was established in 1992.

October 27, 2005 -- Blackwell Plastics was awarded the Texas Mainspring Manufacturing Award for their commitment to manufacturing excellence and innovation in Texas.
